I tried playing my newly encoded (by NeroMix 1.4.0.4) HE AAC files using WinAMP with the in_mp4_20030605 plug in installed (which I got from AudioCoding.com).

Unfortunately it appears WinAmp is only playing the 22Khz portion on the HE AAC audio file (the part without the SBR encoding). Does anyone know when a full HE AAC plug-in for WinAmp 2.x will be out?

I love Nero 6 and HE AAC, but really would prefer to use WinAmp 2.x to play my new HE AAC files rather than NeroMIX.

Also I am encoding at the Nero preset of 80k CBR. Is that best or should I use VBR or 64k CBR?

Thanks!

Thanks Menno for the reply. I appreciate all the hard work that you, Ivan and others from your team at Ahead Software have put into making the HE AAC software encoding/decoding a reality in Nero 6. I am sure the WinAmp plug-in will be a quality tool that will serve to advance the adaption of MP4 audio by many users around the world. Hopefully HE AAC (MP4) will spread fast and replace MP3 and MP3Pro as the audio encoding standard of choice.
