Full Version: Using Monkey's as front end for FLAC?

I read here:

http://flac.sourceforge.net/documentation.html#monkey (bottom of pag)

.. that you can use Monkey's as a front end for FLAC by playing with the files.

What does this mean?

"copy flac_mac.exe on top of"

I have the file flac_mac.exe .. but what does it mean to "copy on top of"

I tried replacing and a few other things, but no dice.

Using Monkey's GUI for FLAC is kludgy at best. Have you tried FLACDrop? smile.gif

I d/l'ed it, and can use it if you say that's the way to go.

I like Monkey's interface.

Do you know what that phrae 'copy on top of' means?
ssamadhi97
example:

Shorten - copy flac_mac.exe on top of External/shortn32.exe

means:

kill shortn32.exe
rename flac_mac.exe to shortn32.exe

anyway, while I like the Monkey's GUI quite a lot, I have to agree with layer3maniac's shameless plug wink.gif for his FLACdrop program.. that's the way to go if you don't like flac frontend.

while we're talking about it anyway: I want to thank layer3maniac for his cool drag&drop interfaces, I am one happy flacdrop/musedrop user smile.gif

Oh, they mean 'rename as' duh. Haven't had my coffee today.

If you guys say Flacdrop is the way to go, I'm there.

Is this the one you mean?

What are the advantages of using it?

No. You can get FlacDrop at my site, in the Programs -> Others page.
