i want to remove any tags but apev2 because i have stored mp3gain undo information in those tags i don't want to lose so i can't use -remove--all
krazy
I managed to do this using frontah. Just go to advanced tagging settings and change the mp3 extension to use apev2 tags. Then select your files and 'update tags'. This was a while ago so the steps may be a bit different than above, but u should be able to figure it out. wink.gif

frontah is very unstable/buggy. i always i get errors and crashes with this program. i don't really want to use it. case's tag is very relieable and stable.

Parameters "--force ape2 --removeid3v2" will do it.

Just download mp3tag it allows you to delete all id3v1 + v2 tags. You can do that simultaneously with all your mp3's - you just have to select them! Make sure you take a look at the options and choose "remove id3v1 AND id3v2 tags". That should do the trick...

Xenion:

Use tag --remove --force apev2, that does the job.

Last time I used Tag, a single --force would remove all tags from the end off the file except that one. It wouldnt touch id3v2 at the front off the file though.

in other words, what Case said --force ape2 --removeid3v2 will do it .
