I use WaveGain for normalizing my wave files and it`s a good program. But i have one question.

How can i do that the target volume is louder?

In MP3Gain it is default set at 89,0 dB and you can easily set it higher or lower.

How can i do this at wavegain?

You're after the '-g' option. If you plan to increase the gain manually by more than 3 - 4dB, I would suggest it may be a good idea to also apply the hard limiter.

but must i do then this:

wavegain -g +9 (it should be 98.0 dB)

or

wavegain -g 98


i want to set the volume to 98.0 dB.

-g 9.0

But 98 dB reference volume is way too high. On most older or properly mastered recordings, you would *raise* the volume and introduce (additional) clipping! I'd say, 94 dB is the highest that one should go. And if there's not a good reason (weak portable etc.), 89 dB is the way to go. Of course in AlbumGain mode!
