Can anybody tell me the difference between STEREO and JOINT STEREO regarding the quality?
What I mean ist, how many bits are approximatly saved when using JOINT STEREO and can therefore be used to increase the quality? I guess it may be around 5 - 10 percent, am I right?

Sorry for my bad english folks, I hope you know, what I'm talkin' bout biggrin.gif

I’m not sure about the percentage since it varies from track to track, but why would you care? Always use Joint-Stereo since it’ll provide the better result.

Very interesting article.
I always wandered why there are simple stereo frames in a
JS file, but know I understand.

Which mp3 encoders can be considered safe as far as joint
stereo implementation is concerned? (Obviously LAME 3.9x
versions, but what else?)
