hello all. here's a problem that's been bothering me. i'm getting little audio "bump" sounds at the end of my tracks, here's an example, please listen.

this happens no matter which cd drive i pull the audio from. i'm pretty sure it has to do with the audio extraction. maybe i should change my method? i'm using aspi right now on XP. but this also happened before i got XP, so i don't think it's an issue with that. please, any help would be much appreciated.

I suggest you try to get EAC working. You could post on EAC forum your specific problem and I'm sure someone will be able to help you. But as for this problem with AudioGrabber, there is option somewhere to discard last 10 frames of audio. It's been years since I last used that program so I can't tell exactly where it is. Enabling the option should help for this problem but gapless cds will probably be problematic then.

Best option would be getting EAC to work (you can get help here also) second would be trying CDex which also have "secure mode".

I personally can't recommend CDex. I tried it recently and it failed miserably with scratched cd. Even with maximum paranoia it ripped with full speed (over 30x) and the result was, as expected, worthless rip. The track skipped and clicked terribly.
The drive used is Plextor and maybe the reason for bad rip is drive's caching of audio. But CDex can't do anything for it.

thanks for your help guys. i've actually got EAC working. the real problem with that is that it won't compress with the Lame EXE. where EAC asks for the command line i put --alt-preset standard, i've also tried --alt-preset standard %s %d, but it doesn't compress.

secure mode takes inordinately long, don't you think?

p.s. hella props if you can name the song (or even band) in the clip.

You need to select "User defined encoder" from the list in EAC. Then all your options will be passed properly to Lame.
And yes, secure mode is slower than burst mode. But it's well worth it to get good rips.
