I hate the "follow curser" method because I sometimes will highlight a file in the playlist to see its file information or something, and I will forget to re-highlight the song that was previously highlighted and it will play all out of order. Does that make sense? I suggest an option to have foobar play sequencially no matter the curser position.

"Playback" -> uncheck "Follow cursor". ?

Uncheck Follow cursor in the Playback menu then...
