Could that be somehow more fluid? Now before the end of the song foobar loads next and if it's for example ape file it takes some time and it's audible. Couldn't next song be preloaded slowly with much smaller priority while playing the first one? And maybe could there be a adjustable buffor for the next song too.

I don't want to be annoying but just want to ask if my post was noticed. And if there are any plans to fix it? biggrin.gif wink.gif

Unpack them yourself and ditch the archives. As far as I know, Foobar2000 will never have multi-threaded pre-loading.

Why? Why would you play files from an archive?! Mp3's compress like 0.0000001% from a zip/rar file anyway, it's of no gain to you :\ I'll never understand why it was even incorperated in foobar.

From what I understand people usually do this for ease of sharing albums on networks like emule/edonkey where it is easier to download one big file than a lot of smaller files. So you compress the album into a zip/rar with compression disabled.

I didn't really get it either until someone explained this in another thread.

Module files often come zipped.

Individually, or not solid compressed. Decompressing smaller files like that is not as much of a problem.
