I am having trouble with cue sheets and mp3's.
The process is as follows.
I have a continously mixed dj set.
Using EAC i do "Copy Image and Create Cue Sheet" after retrieving track name info from freedb.org.
So i now have the .wav and associated .cue.
I now use Razorlame with Lame 3.90 compile to encode this .wav to .mp3 using the alt-preset extreme switch.
Now, using the mp3cue plug-in with Winamp 2.80, the track positions are fine on the .wav but out of sync on the mp3 (using cuesheets referring to both the .wav WAVE file and .mp3 MP3 file). The track points are wrong in the mp3 by over 5 seconds - and it doesn't seem consistently out (though it's quite hard to judge).
What's going on?
Is it a problem with Winamp and the fact it's a VBR encode so time points are odd? I haven't tried decompressing to a new .wav from the mp3 to check it works properly from that, likewise i haven't tried a CBR encode.
But ideally i just want it right for the mp3's to play off my hard drive.
Is there another software mp3 player that lets you playback image mp3 files using a cuesheet?
