Full Version: Bug Report: Ctrl+F doesn't track across tabs

1. Make sure you have Foobar 2000 configured with at least two playlist tabs, with some music tracks in each one, and then launch the "Playlist search" dialog box (Ctrl+F).

2. Enter some text that will match a few tracks in the current playlist (preferably tracks that are somewhere near the top of the playlist).

3. Leaving the Playlist search box active, click on a second playlist tab. Note that the search entries from the first tab will remain in the "Playlist search" box.

4. Double-click on one of these search entries in the "Playlist search" box to play the track from the first playlist tab while still in the second playlist tab, and foobar will play a different track (at the same index) from the second playlist (provided there actually is a track at that index in the second playlist - otherwise Foobar 2000 will just ignore the double-click).

------------------

My preference on a fix for this would be to update the contents of the "Playlist search" box each time a new tab is selected, rather than retain the contents from the previous playlist tab. That way it would be fairly easy to find something by just entering the text once and then clicking across tabs to find it.

Changed it to refresh search results after playlist modification, thanks for feedback.

This bug still isn't quite fixed yet in RC12.

To reproduce:

1. Open foobar2000 and make sure that at least two playlist tabs exist.

2. In the first playlist tab enter only ONE music track. Make sure no other tracks exist in this playlist tab.

3. In the second playlist tab, make sure that MORE than one music track exists. Add the same track that was in the first playlist tab, but make sure it's NOT the first track in this playlist.

4. Go back to the first playlist tab and then launch the "Playlist search" dialog box (Ctrl-F or F3), and enter some text that will match text in the only track for that playlist tab. It's important that the "Playlist search" box be launched from the FIRST playlist tab.

5. Switch to the second playlist tab (the one with the same track somewhere further down in the list), leaving the "Playlist search" box active.

6. The matching entry in the second playlist tab will NOT be found.

7. Now drag the matching entry up to the top of the second playlist and it wil suddenly appear in the "Playlist search" box. Drag it back down and it will disappear.

It seems that the "Playlist Search" box is limiting its search size to the number of entries found in the first playlist tab.

------------------------------

By the way - a big THANK YOU for adding the tabs to foobar2000 - it is a unique feature that is VERY MUCH appreciated by yours truly!

Previously reported bug still exists in RC14.

If you open a search on any tab, then switch to another tab, only the first n entries will be searched in the playlist, where n is the amount of TOTAL entries in the first playlist. You don't need to enter anything for this to happen.

Just a small correction. But then, I think that's what you were saying... but this doesn't bother me much, so... *shrug*

Well, here are some screenshots, anyway.

Found why it was happening, should be fixed now (post-RC14), thanks.
