Hello.

Today, I wanted to add a button linking to Hydrogenaudio together with the CD-rw.org button featured at RareWares' main page, and realized that there is none.

So, I would like to invite the graphically skilled members of the Hydrogenaudio community to create a standard (88 x 31 pixels) button.

IMO, it will be very useful for people wanting to link to HA from their sites.

We can also get Dibrom and JohnV to chose the winner among the submissions smile.gif

Any ideas?

Thanks for your attention.

Regards;

Roberto.

Though I'm not sure if I like the yellow glow around the headphones. wink.gif Edit. Ah, changed already.

And in URMEL's logo the yellow .org reminds me of those afterdawn.com/cd-rw.org texts, which is not imo the best for HA.. wink.gif

Yeah, you're right. I've put it up there because the crippled shadow didn't look good.
But with the border, I looks much better.

I like the last one. It's more legible, and the characters are similar to the HA banner.

I'd also like to know.. Ripping the banner is tedious.

Here are a few non-drop-shadow alternatives for dark and light backgrounds respectively:

Is it true that IE STILL doesn't support .png alpha channels? Here are some with backgrounds built in:

There's probably too much blue around the web these days. Here's some anti-blue:

Though we need also a new logo soon.. The old logo is kinda outdated, especially the text under it (HA covers more than just psychoacoustic audio compression).

See Yeti's transpatency PNG test page for explanation.
For example my avatar is PNG with transparency, and looks correct in IE because it has set the background bit to the HA's "background" color.

Yep, it's true sad.gif

That and incorrect CSS positioning drive me #%@!ing nuts. Bastards seem to have no plans to release a new version any time soon either. argh!

Though annoying, there is actually a hack you can use in IE for this:

Yes, and it really works.

I made a test here some time ago:

http://fabul.dk/ass.html

But unfortunately, the page I was going to use it for, had around 500 images and it takes a minute or so to render the page (not the test page, it's safe).

If you feel brave check http://fabul.dk/alpha.asp with IE. Or just hit http://fabul.dk/ with Mozilla, and watch anti-aliased dots like they're supposed to look.

Renders in about 1/2 second for me (in Konqurer and Firebird)...

We should also have a button for foobar2000 (of course, Peter has to approve). I was putting the finishing touches to my "rock en espaņol" album review site and I wanted to add a "I use foobar2000 to listen to all the CDs that I review" link. I think a button would be nice. I suggest the one with the cat and headphones (altough it should feature Peter's cat instead wink.gif )

Yea, it's only the alpha.asp file that uses DXImageTransform. The regular page just uses ordinary PNG's with alpha transparency.

Yeah, something like that!

But, can you change the "foobar2000" letters to a different color? Or make them black with a white "aura" around them or viceversa (you know, like movie subtitles do so they don't get lost when something white or black is shown). That's because the "foobar20" impression it makes at first sight is kinda disturbing to me... wink.gif

Thanks!

grey and blue variant will be updated in place.

"e" letter has high density of lines.. It would be simpler if it was e.g. Argon Audio smile.gif

The previous font looks a little cleaner, which is a plus. But they are both very good.

IMHO the antialised looks better. smile.gif
