Recently I've come across a lot of websites that mentions "APE"-tags. Can someone explain what this is? I've searched all over the web, but to no avail.
Thanks...

APE tags are an alternative to ID3 tags, and they are highly recommended for MPC (Musepack) and APE (Monkey's Audio) lossless audio files.
Among the advantages:
- more flexible design (add your own categories; no predefined genres)
- UNICODE support & cleaner design (compared to ID3v2), and no stupid limitations (compared to ID3v1).
Note: I'm not sure about UNICODE in APEv1. For sure APEv2 does support it.
