I've seen a lot of posts on HA about multimedia pc's, but none of the current commercial offerings (or even the open source offerings) are as good as using a pc with fb2k. Most only support mp3 and wma, and increasingly ogg or flac. However, for those of us who like mpc, ape, or other formats, there is no good option.

How difficult would it be to make a plugin for foobar2000 that served as a frontend for a dedicated multimedia pc?

The plugin could be turned on to display the playlist gui, similar to a product I saw in another post, Musikbrowzer (screenshot). The pc would then be in 'dedicated mode'--it would serve as a audio player for various formats using foobar2000 as a backend. (btw like many other multimedia pc offerings, musikbrowzer only supports mp3, wma, ogg).

How hard would this be? I don't have the programming experience to do it, but maybe someone else would be willing to try?

Let me know your thoughts....
