Hi, I saw a lot of people recommended NOD32 in the antivirus threads here so thought I would give it a try. Seems good so far, lots of frequent definition updates and so on. Ive got a small problem that is holding me back from fully using it, and thought someone here would've come across it by now...

First problem Ive struck is AMON absoltuely kills my foobar2000 startup times, as it scans all the components loading (takes over 5 secs). I had a look in the AMON config and added my foobar dir to the exclusion list, with the option to exclude sub dirs, but it still seems to scan them (you can see AMON in the contol centre still scanning them all as it loads)

Any ideas? I didnt see any forums on their page and support seems to be for reg users only (Im trialling it)

I don't know if Foobar2000's components are UPX compressed or not since I haven't used it in a long time and can't remember.

If there are .DLL and .EXE files that are compressed via UPX that can cause some virus scanner resident shields to take ages for a program to load regardless of its size.

You can download UPX from http://upx.sourceforge.net

And for decompressing the files (if they are compressed) you would use the command's:
upx -d *.dll
upx -d *.exe

If you want a decompression log you could use:
upx -d *.dll > autodll.log
upx -d *.exe > autoexe.log

I don't know if this will help, or not, however it is worth a try.

I do have this kind of problems with Kaspersky
all the aspack or upx packed files load a few times slower
And the CPU load is 100% when loading!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
UPX is little faster than aspack, still Kaspesky hates them
But i didn't encounter any problem or system hang with foobar2k, so i think
fb2k is not upx packed?
