Full Version: Software to correct MPU playlist files?

I posted this to the general discussion forum a while ago and got no replies. So I'll try again here:
-------------------------

With all of my creating, deleting, moving MP3s, and general work with them, I always end up with M3U playlist files with bad filenames and/or bad paths.

Has anyone come across software that can look at a M3U file, then scan your drives, and come up with files with the same, or similar filenames as options for replacing the bad entry in the file?

Thanks,

Shel

I rememberd seeing something like this some time ago. The HA search was useless as always, but with the help of google I could find this:

It's not exactly what you're looking for but anyway... it's a start...

Hmmm... Let's see:

----------------------------

Key Benefits
Verify existing play lists contain valid file locations.
Scan for files that are not listed in any play lists.
Mass recursive creation of play lists.
Mass recursive deletion of play lists.
Mass recursive deletion of empty directories.
Mass recursive removal of extended play list information.
~15 configurable options that enhance and customize the operation of the program.
... and more.

----------------------------

Hmm... well I'll download and see what the " ~15 configurable options" are.

Thanks for the tip.

Hmm... the link to the executable seem to be dead. But a Google search for "Playlist Verifier" came up with something called Jukebox Synchronizer that looks interesting:
