Hello,
I've been using EAC to extract the CD's as single images. Then i usually use MAC to convert it to APE and then i use MAKEApl to get the individual tracks (I'm using the bug in MAKEApl fix as well).
Now i would like to go back to doing individual files. If i decompress using the APL files, will i get the same WAV files that i would've gotten if i had done individual tracks in the first place?
Also, is their any difference in playback between individual APE files vs. using APL files? Things such as processor usage, seeking times... anything?
Thanks
To split a image i noramly convert it to wav, then use eac and it has an option "split wav with cue fiel" select "with gaps" and the result will be as if you had ripped with individual tarcks.
Foobar also has a convert setting, you could put the cue file in the playlist and tell it to convert to wav/ape/mpc/mp3 blah and it will give you wantever you want.
SOmeone might be able to give you a better answer about decompressing/converitng apl files.
(btw is there any otehr program to split wav according to a cue file? i am lookig for a program that'll do gap1+track1+gap2 then track2+gap3 then track3+gap4... i don'[t want to lose gap1 as with eac because then you can't ever make the cdimage again (don't point out the uselessness of gap1)
