Something is very wrong with the search since the move to IPS 1.2

I've just tested a search for syfm, *syfm, and *syfm*, which returned only 1 result. Now i know for a fact this is wrong, and the search should have return more results.

Is something broken here? or am im missing something very obvious?

I agree, it's very useless. Try to use google until it is fixed - add "site:hydrogenaudio.org" to the end in your google query (without the apostrophies), and you will have much better functionality. Only drawback is that you might not find the newest threads...

I have to agree that it is not good at all. Unfortunately seems that people at Invision don't take this issue so seriously as they should..

Maybe we move back to the old search system, although it is much more resource hungry than the current system (heh, also maybe because nobody anymore uses the current search system.. laugh.gif)

We'll see what we can do about this..

Couldn't you pass the keywords to Google?

Couldn't you pass the keywords to Google?

It just sounds too sad for any forum based on mysql (or any SQL database for that matter) to need an external search engine like Google to complete a basic search correctly.

Ok, changed to the old method:
