I'm having a problem with my mp3s. In some of the songs that I'm encoding, I hear a staticy or crackly type sound in certain parts of the song. It's often happens during sound peaks but not always. Sometimes just a certain instrument will sound crackly when it plays a certain note. It's not very noticable unless the sound is turned up, but it still bothers me. Here is my encoding process:

EAC -> wav
Encode with LAME 3.90.3 aps
Use mp3gain to apply max noclip gain
Tag id3v1 and id3v2 with tag&rename

Is there anything that could be causing this? The music I'm encoding is mostly rock from 1990-present. The problem doesn't affect most songs. There's a old Alice in Chains song, 1 old Offspring song, and newer songs by Cold and Nickelback that I can think of offhand. No matter how many times I reencode the songs, they still have the same problem. Any ideas?

Maybe it's a sound card problem? What kind of Soundcard do you have?

It could also be the player that you're using as well.
