Full Version: I want this PC !

RIV@NVX
I would take it only IF someone took out that Pentium 4 thing and replaced it with a nice Athlon 64 (and of course, a MoBo that supports Athlon 64).

But if I got it for free, I would do it myself smile.gif

I'd take it, that's a damn nice PC. It's only US$7799. Cheap really! ohmy.gif

OMG!!! (w00t)

:drooling:::drooling:

950MHz FSB
P4 3.8GHz (and P5-ready)
Up to 16GB RAM
8.4 Gb/s memory bandwidth
128-bit FPU
150,000 I/O requests per second
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro (8x AGP)
Up to 2TB HD storage
Built-in RAID (0, 1, 0+1, Multiple)
180w Sub-zero Cooling
and on... and on...

No offense to AMD, but I'll bet this thing could very likely smoke an Athlon 64 in any configuration (the extreme FSB speed alone makes a dramatic difference for "real-world" speed).

All it needs is a TerraTec Phase 28 and she'll be ready to go! (Then again, never heard of the installed audio sub-system that comes with this beast...is it any good?)

Edit: Typo

Blah... Think of the noise this thing would make. :x

All I can say OMFG!!! blink.gif Who the hell has one of these systems? Man if I owned this box I would be in heaven... creating worlds and universes. I bet this could churn out work units like no tomorrow (F@H).

DROOL and OMFG again

Regards

Strange... I get a 404 for that URL ATM... blink.gif

Anyway, I also want this monitor to go with my Mach 3.8. ph34r.gif

RIV@NVX: If you want an Athlon64, just wait a few months. Check the news.

The 92" 4xmonitor is only US$17499.99!

If I won the lottery...

I was drooling over the monitor more than the computer itself. F*** it. I don't need a new car, I'll just get one of these instead.

The latency is probably s*** though.

It would also be a lot cheaper to get 4 lcd screens and this baby.

You can always use the PuRam technology and have no hard drives!

QUOTE
PuRam™ Technology featured personal supercomputer configurable WITHOUT a system hard drive. All operating system and program files sit permanently a on a Flash RamDisk operating at the speed of the maximum available memory bandwidth up to 7GB/s and capable of over 150,000 I/O requests per second, all with an average of 0.0% CPU utilization. No Hard Disk design, not even 15.000RPM SCSI devices in multiple RAID cofigurations can come close to providing a fraction of the real-world performance of PuRam™ Technology.

Just to keep things in perspective, I read the newest power4 systems from IBM can compile the Linux kernel in 7 seconds, compared to around 15 minutes for my 2.6ghz P4. Even if this clockchipped model is 2x mine, it still lags the real fast guys by a BIG factor.

The noise comes from the chiller unit. I built a system for a friend using the same cabinet and, believe me, when it's running at maximum chill it is very noisy. rolleyes.gif

I wonder how fast an Athlon 64 FX 2.8GHz would do it in.... wink.gif

Probably a lot better than this P4... wink.gif

No there not noisy, that is a Vapochill Case, and they are VERY quiet. They only have 1 fan and you can adjust it depending on your heat removal needs. Cabinet? It's called a case, and you must have not done something right if it was "very noisy".

You guys probably want to google for "go-l.com scam" before thinking of placing any others. Here's a shortcut to the google search for your convenience:

Well, you can add products to basket, enter shipping information, then you're asked for CC number and site verifies if it is valid. I didn't proceed any further, of course, but it looks like much more than a fake. dry.gif

I'm surprised it lists partners. You'd think they would be all over this place with lawyers if it is a scam. If legit businesses knew they were connected to a scam site...they could have a field day.
