I wanted to know which software do you use for burning your CD audio compilations, say why you use it, which are the best features...
ScorLibran
I am currently using Easy CD/DVD Creator for the few audio CD burns I ever do, and also for backups to DVD-RW. It has a decent interface, but I've had some problems with it not recognizing formatted DVD-RWs occasionally.

I want to switch to Nero 6 as I have some friends and family members that use it, and it seems to better fit my needs overall. So I'm sure I'll be buying a copy soon!

I'm guessing you've categorized Exact Audio Copy as "Other," although I can't figure out why...

The poll is a bit misleading in my view. One, it lumps EAC into "Other." Two, I use more than one burner. Copying audio I use EAC; burning from MP3's to WAV's I use foobar2000; burning from MP3 to MP3 I use burnatonce. To copy a weird CD I use Clone CD. B)

Yeah, you're right. EAC is in "other", but for this, I think EAC is more focused in CUE sheets and other things many people don't use, as well isn't easy of use (doesn't mean it sucks, EAC is the best program I use). So this poll is more focused on the easy of use, power, GUI, well known program. But people like you, can post message about EAC, in fact I want to be the first...

I use EAC to rip my cds, and make CUE sheets (which I don't how to use it tongue.gif ).
EAC really deserves to be tryed...

I didn't wanted to get EAC out of this...
MadXviD
Really want to apologize to all the people about EAC.

But specify you use it...

And I know people use many programs, so, that's the thing, write what are those you use, and write what is that you like in those programs...

EAC, I'm sorry sad.gif

One of CUE sheets' main purposes is _precisely_ burning audio CDs. Sure, its burning capabilities aren't exactly obvious, but then again this community tends to be well-informed and adept enough to use "complicated" programs.

I think you're right Dologan, so this topic is off now...

Thanks to all
Sorry to all too... sad.gif

Hey, man, don't worry. smile.gif The reason you posted this poll was probably to find out more about the topic, so it fulfilled its purpose. In this case, perhaps it would have been better to post it as a normal thread instead of a poll, but hey, no harm done. smile.gif

EDIT: smilies corrected and small rephrasing

Already discussed here:

There are more programs: CDRWin, Prassi based programs (RecordNow), NTI, etc.

My favourite is Feurio! by far.
Better programmed, small, fast, installs no shit, the best burning engine, the most informative, great way to make compilations, and features not found in buggy mainstream all-in-one programs like Nero or Easy: detection of corrupt MP3 files (including the position of the errors), or burning with no pauses with any kind of WAV file... or some easy stupid things like a player to hear your compilation before burning (pathetic "Play"-"Stop" attempt by Nero dry.gif ) or remembering your last settings.
Feurio lacks several things: formats other than WAV and MP3, normalization based on average volume, or crossfading.

after Nero refused to burn the Metallica - Load (79 min) album a few weeks ago, I found Burnatonce and never looked back smile.gif

Switched from Nero to BurnAtOnce so I could take advantage of the support for filenames longer than 64 characters. Also, I enjoy the simple interface. Oh yeah, and it's free too! wink.gif

1. "Normal" CD Copy via Image/Cuesheet -> EAC 0.9 Beta 4
2. "Double Album" via tow Images/Cuesheets -> Burrrrn 1.04 or BurnAtOnce 0.98
3. Compilations -> Feurio 1.66.3 Beta (with Plex Premium support)

I use a Plexwriter Premium for burning ...

Burnatonce(BAO) is simple to use. The developer is active and available. He oversees his forums day after day. Quick replys on any BAO question. The program has gone from an image maker to a dvd\cd maker in less than 2 years. There is no bloat in his program. It is also freeware that actually does what it is suppose to.

I use, (or should say, did use), Easy Cd Creator because it came free with my HP, Phillips, and Plextor drives. I said "did" use, because the dang Plextools Pro that I loaded knocked it out, and I haven't gotten around to reinstalling it yet.

Easy Cd was much better than Plextools, if for no other reason than it can burn a CD as a stand-alone application. Plextools can't function on its own.

I use burnatonce too because:

- The GUI is great
- It's under 4 MB
- It's free
- It does replaygain
- It suports up to 105 characters in a filename with Long Joliet
- It's got great support (in the forum).
- On my OLD pc it didn't have as many buffer underuns as Nero did (But Feurio was better in that aspect because it could do audio on the fly)
- It can write a Checksum file to the CD automatically. (Yes, sounds paranoid but is good for checking backups (2-3 months old).
- It can write cds with the ISO 9660:1999 standard (up to 209 characters in a filename lower ASCII, however)

I use cdrecord; GUIs are for wusses.

I use Nero 6 for Audio CD's (ripped with EAC first). Combined with all of Mausau's plugins (NeroPlugins.cd-rw.org) I find it very useful. Some people seem to think it's bloated compared to Nero 5, and admittidly it has a lot more programs, but it doesn't really feel any slower to me. Plus it has a great AAC encoder bundled with it.

Burnatonce here...
If it had offsets it would be even better.

Edit: Unfortunately I found out that Burnatonce cannot burn
mp3s to audio CD on the fly unless there's enough space on
your HDD for the image, unlike Nero 5.x... bummer!
elmar3rd
Burrrn, because i like this "start program, drag'n drop files, click burn button"-thing.
Pio2001
For tracks ripped from CDs, I use Nero 5 because it is the one that came with my burner.
For other tracks (from analog sources), or for mixing, I use Samplitude Producer Pro, because it allows realtime multitrack sound processing, and instant editing (cut/copy/paste/move/delete)
nyarlathotep
I've used/tested Burrrn and burnatonce with satisfaction. Both Gambit and Jamieo have been doing a really great work indeed. I guess I have to give Feurio! a try.
A long time ago (or what seems so), I used to use Easy CD Cremator. For some reasons, it caused me so much trouble that I don't want to hear about it anymore...
Now, I'm using Nero 6, mainly because that way I can use foobar2000 to burn audio CDs with the Audio CD Writer plugin.
frodoontop
Nero destroyed some of my cd's and made my burner sound really unnatural. I took a look at burnatonce and I'll stick with this great program. It's really easy to use, with just the options I need. And it's freeware smile.gif .

I voted Other, because my favorite burnatonce was not on the list! ohmy.gif

Why burnatonce?
1. Simple/nice interface.
2. Free for personal use.
3. Powerful backends (cdrdao, cdrecord and mkisofs).
4. Great support forum.
5. The rest... biggrin.gif

Uhm, Burnatonce is on the list but due to a spelling mistake it reads:
Burn At One
