Using Nero, today I ripped some CD tracks, with EAC, then encoded them using the following encoders and presets, then decoded them and performed spectrum analysis with Sound Forge.
[list]
Remarkably, the decoded .wav which was the most accurate in conforming to the original .wav was the MP3Pro file! I also happen to think it sounds pretty good!
Has anybody else tried out this MP3Pro setting?

I also enjoy mp3pro at 96k. But to think that it beats any of the other formats, with the settings you listed is simply hilarious.

This is so true.
The mp3pro file may have
looked the best, but nobody performing any serious listening test would ever be able to say with a straight face that it
sounded the best.
