Is there any component for foobar2000 which supports ACE archives?
asked and answered already.
Do a forum search on archives and ACE.

ah
caught me trying to search the wrong forum, took me a minute to figure out you meant the general forum...? though I found them after searching several.
you can just search all foobar forums at once.
there should be an entry in the dropdown-menu called "foobar2000 sub-caterogies" - or something similiar.

On another note:
I really don't want to dictate which archiver someone should use. So take the following just as a proposal:
Nowadays, i can't understand why someone would choose ace to archive files.
Maybe i'm missing some point, but as far as i can see the only advantages of ACE are its speed (its fast) and its "cool name".
Here's a subjective overview of the currently most used archivers on win32:
ZIP: very fast, lowest compression, nearly everyone has a zip-unpacker, multi-platform
ACE: fast, medium compression, widespread use, closed source
RAR: slow, high compression, widespread use, closed source but libraries available
7zip: slow, highest compression, low userbase(but seems to spread fast), open-source
okay, sorry for spreading false news.... seems like i did remember a post from kode wrong. He instead wrote this about ACE:
QUOTE
There is no free unpacking source for ACE. There is only a library for linking against a .DLL, and it seems to lack proper Unicode support.

This is the same reason 7z does not support the unpacking of ACE archives. I have personally moved to 7-zip recently. I love the multithreading & compression ratio. WINACE does have a better UI though.

I've got some MP3 ACEs from somewhere - and it's on CDR now. So - I will recompress it to zip. :-(
