Hi everybody,
I noticed that there is this "eac095pb3.zip" version available. My first question is if there is a consensus on wether or not this latest version is stable or not.
I'm currently using 09 Beta 4.

My second and probably most important question is about HOW to update. Do I have to deinstall first or can I just overwrite the old version WITHOUT loosing my settings.
I've just been through configuring EAC to an additional profile that uses the MPC encoder, and I have no nerves and time to do it allagain on two profiles.
Any pointer is much appreciated.
Thank you

Oups, I forgot to ask one more Question.
What does EAC's Andre W. mean with this:

...."Please make sure again that your compression queue is empty when installing the update!
Anyway, I hope you will like it! "

Well, you can configure EAC, so that the compression of the WAVs start, while the next track is ripped. In most cases the ripping-prcess is faster than the encoding of the WAVs, so a copression-queue is filled with all the upcoming encoding-requests.

If you finnish EAC, while this queu is not empty, nothing bad happens. If you restart EAC, the queue is used to continue the encoding.

This queue must be empty, if you update EAC. I guess, the list is stored in a file and the format may have changed.

It's the latest version. Never had a problem with it.

Just install it over the old one.
There is one known issue:
After installing, you must check "Compression Settings/External Compression", if your parameter-schema (don't know how this is labled in english, i use the german version) has changed (in each profile). You must select "Userdefined Compressor" (I guess)

Thats what I did.

Yes, EAC 0.95pb3 is the latest and greatest. After dozens of CDs i encoded with it, i can say it's pretty stable for me.

You can simply extract it into your EAC folder, overwrite all files. You won't lose your settings.

Trusting you guys I'm going to proceed as you directed. I'm still waiting for EAC to get the latest job done. This Clone from an original dics shows no signs of scratches or s.th. actually brand new LOL, but it takes for ever to pass "secure".
What sort of errors are read and how does EAC solve it?
Ahhm, o.k. you don't have to answer this, sorry for my ramble. Better reread somewhere in the archieves.
Thanx and keep up the good work.
