Good evening,
I've set up EAC to work with various exe files. Ogg, MPC, MP3, Monkey and Flac. They all use the same template that says "User defined" and then the exact path of the format's .exe file as you all know.
That's been done the way I was teached. Question is: Why not just use the pull down menus, where all is been said. The cool thing is that you can choose different compression ratios in the lower pull down menu. At least when you choose LossLess in the menu above.
Ther ust be a reason why I always read that I should set it to "user defined". Is the pull down option just a placebo or what?
Maybe I missed something. Curious to learn about this one.
Thanx

I forgot to mention that I inserted the command strings Case is recommending on his "How to set up EAC" site for FLAC and Monkeys . I'm not sure if they are the latest, most sophisticated CStrings. I just stumbled over these two loss less formats, so I have no idea what those command strings are actually doing in terms of compresion ratio.
Thanx for your time
