Gambit has released a new update to Burrrn.
http://www.apehaus.com/burrrn/
CODE
Burrrn is a little tool for burrrning audio CDs with CD-Text from various audio files. Supported formats are: wav, mp3, mpc, ogg, aac, ape, flac, m3u and pls playlists and cue sheets. You can also burrrn EAC's noncompliant image + cue sheets! Burrrn can read all types of tags from all these formats (including ape tags in mp3). Burrrn uses cdrdao.exe for burrrning.

Too bad it doesn't support Plextor's VariRec function. Otherwise it would be my choice for audio cd burning smile.gif

Is burn list reordering implemented?
simonh
Sadly, it still insists on putting tracks one to nine after track ten on any mp3 album that I burn to cd.

Is there no way of correcting this fundamental flaw?

hhmm, I haven't used burrrn before, but I guess a workaround is to rename your files which you like to burn like that:
01... 02... ... 10... (the zero at the beginning is the important thing).
hope that helps.
there's also another thread around here with the same issue and IIRC nero, you may want to take a look there.
simonh
They are all named 01, 02 etc in the filename Digga. Maybe it orders according to the id3 tags (which may have no leading zero).

Its a shame cause the discs that I've burnt have been faultless apart from the ordering anomaly.

cheers

Actually this is a Windows bug. It happens when you select a bunch of files and don't drop them by draging not the first one. Eh, not sure if you get it from the explanation... So an example:
You have files "01.wav" "02.wav" "03.wav".
You press Ctrl+A to select all files. Now you point your mouse button on the "03.wav" file, press down the mouse, drag it over to the Burrrn window and release it. Now, the "03.wav" file will be the first in the list. So, to avoid this you have to drop the files by dragging the "01.wav" file. It's a stupid bug actually, I should have fixed it a long time ago, sorry for that...

Anyway the manual reordering is still planned, till then I'll fix it in 1.051 by sorting the files internally before adding to the list. I'll upload it tomorow.
simonh
Thanks for the explanation and solution Gambit. I'll give it a try.

Burrrn package in italian will be added later B)

uuuh. m3u/pls burning. I have been waiting for that for so long.

TNX, gambit

EDIT: just gave the prog a try. Fine simple interface, but I am missing an option for burning mp3-CDs. Any chance to get that inccluded?

EDIT2: Concerning the german translation:
Some words are longer than the appropriate buttons. Maybe you could make these buttons more flexible.
Gambit
OK, as promised 1.051 is up. Currently only the exe zip is updated, I will update the packages later.

Well, Burrrn is an audio burrrning application, for data I suggest you try burnatonce. I did think about adding data CD support, and I'm not saying that it won't be supported but at least not in the near future. If I get verrry bored I might start thinking about implementing it wink.gif

Yeah, the translations need a little bit of tweaking...

Great stuff Gambit! Did you get my email a few days ago by the way? I mentioned the ordering anomaly and also the fact that using the installer package did not install winaspi32.dll

Edit: My God, I'm famous! Saw the changelog Gambit....
simonh
Yep, all is well now Gambit (I'm sure you knew that already).

p.s. I see you are a regular at burnatonce as well...

Cheers

one "problem". the app "steals" cue file associations from burnatonce, and there's no choice of file association - selection during install or in options

otherwise, nice program smile.gif

Just tried it out and I really like the simplicity of this for creating audio CDs. Would it be possible to make it faster by decoding and burning simultaneously? I would imagine it only needs to have decoded a single track to start burning it, not every track.

I just tried this out..and I can't seem to get .ape files to work with this program. I have the MAC.exe file in the same directory as the burrrn.exe file (C:\Program Files\Burrrn - I used the full install package) I will try another version of the MAC.exe (burrrn comes with 3.9.7.0 60kB file) and post back if I solve this problem.

Update: It does work if the files are properly tagged...many .ape files I have are not tagged..and adding tags would change the checksums...so I'll have to use another program for burning these .ape files without tags:\

I'll add an option for that in the next version.

No, that's not possible. It has been said many times, this is a limitation of cdrdao.

I have made a Swedish translation:

peekpoke
How about a N number of copies option?

Right now, when creating multiple copies with Burrrn it has to re-decode all the files, and create the DAO image each time it burns a copy.

*** OOPS! turns out Burrrn is smart enough to use previously decoded WAV files in it's burrrn_temp directory, and no decode again. So ignore this feature request. ***

Also I've been getting a GPF every few times I run Burrrn 1.051 by double clicking on a CUE file, perhaps because I'm running it on a dual CPU machine? But when I open Burrrn.exe and then drag the CUE file in, no GPF. If you have a debug copy I can click "Cancel" on the GPF error dialog, and tell you more about where the error is using Visual Studio.

will dragging a bunch of mp3's (with mp3_accurate_length=yes) into this program to create an audio cd be gapless, as if i had converted the mp3's to wav with fb and then burned?

I hope the answer to this is "yes" but I doubt it.

AFAIK the only decoder that supports this feature is foobar's and that one is not available for other softwares
