was just wondering if anyone knows how to capture streaming Real video (.ram?)?

i know programs like Total Recorder will capture the audio, but it doesn't do video. I tried a programe called Streambox but it was still not able to capture the video - even after all the addon patchs it still said the player was incompatible (or something to that effect)

Thanks

You can try Stream Down from CocSoft.

Are you sure that Streambox didn't work?

There's a forum for it:

if you need some help on it. Sometimes the program is a bit troublesome. Considering Real has released their specs to the public, I'm surprised nobody has written a new Real capture program.

Feel free to check their FAQ on the various programs to capture streams, and ask questions there. They are very familiar with the program and similar utilities.

Also, you can use things like URLSnooper to watch packets for some 'hidden' urls.

For the record, there doesn't appear to be any program to capture quicktime video's, although there are reliable programs for both Real and Microsoft streams.

(Some quicktime streams are really just files with URLs in them. With a bit of manual effort you can extract those (or use URLSnooper) and then download them manually.)
