I'd like to use foobar's tools in order to search some informations, especially in the COMMENT tag. I used to fill COMMENT with some precious information, as disc label, performers, recording engineer, etc... Separate tags for these informations are probably the best way to inform a file, but I ripped thousand files before foobar2000 was launched, and COMMENT was the only usable field for this purpose.

Unfortunately, database search & extend search are not able to perform what I need. The two components are working, but apparently, then can't scann the whole tag (COMMENT), if enter character is inside the tag informations.

For exemple, if I ask to find the word "Hernandez", the components are able to find it if :



But the two components are unable to find the information is the formatting of the tag is prettier :




I don't know if this behaviour is intended or not. But I will be very pleased if one of the two compenents will be able to perform a complete search.

Use $meta(comment) instead of %comment% in your format, the latter automatically truncates multiline values.

Yes, though it only works for meta fields. Use $info(bla) instead of %__bla% for technical information. $meta can also take an additional parameter, please refer to titleformatting help for details.
