Since I first time I tried Foobar 7.x I haven't been able to get it to work very well when streaming over the proxy. It almost worked, but it skipped badly and I got constant error messages similar to:
WARNING (foo_input_std) : mpeg stream error at 17125 bytes, attempting resync
INFO (foo_input_std) : mpeg stream resync successful
It's really irked me... I tried everything, changing the buffer and stream settings, nothing seemed to help. The proxy worked fine in foobar 6.x... It automatically used the IE proxy, I didn't even have to configure it.
Now today, I finally got it working... I simply unchecked the "enabled dynamic track titles" and it works like a charm. How could the track titles make it skip? Is there something I can do to get the track titles back yet keep it from skipping?
Thanks,
John

Your proxy is swallowing non-standard HTML response headers which contain information necessary for title streaming. If title streaming worked before... well... then...
Microsoft needs to go to hell for making it work properly only if you use one of their proprietary and undocumented authentication schemes.

Yeah, it's actually a Netcache proxy.. but they do use NTLM with additional (limited) support for basic authentication. I understand why they use NTLM... so people are constantly having to login to access resources... but it would be nice if it were documented a little better. I think microsoft might leave this type of thing less documented as to make it less of a security target.. but I dunno. it's working fine with title retrieval so I'm stickin with this.
