I just downloaded it, and I have to say I'm very impressed.

The interface just seems better thought out than WA3, and the media library seems to work better (though it is a very long time since I've last used 3). Overall a nice program, and I may well consider switching over from 2.91 once the final comes out.

The new default skin is rather nice too...

You're wrong.
He posted a personal blog note that was taken way out of proportion by "the media", right after the WASTE fiasco. He's still doing the same things he's always done, Winamp and all.
