I've found some HDD DAP devices that are upgradable, and I am wondering if the IHP-100 or 120 is also upgradeable.
I haven't found any comments on this anywhere, and I'm planning on getting one anyway, but maybe it would be cheaper to get a 100 model and stick in a bigger disk

cheers dudes. (and dudettes)

I didn't quite understand what you mean by the term "upgradeable". Do you mean the hard disks that these beauties are built on? Do you mean the firmware? Please elaborate your question.

He's asking if the hard drive inside the player can be swapped with one that has a larger capacity. This can be done with some HDD-based digital audio players, but I haven't heard about any iHP-1XX users trying this.

If you want to buy me one, pm me and I will be more than happy to open that baby up and make a legitamate attempt to put a larger hd in there.

All of the smallest players on the market these days (newer ipods, ihps, karma, etc...) use 1.8" hard drives which are not really available to consumers. Also they don't make them in larger sizes yet. (ie... the 40gb ipod uses two of them stacked up)

It's no use putting in another hdd. They are almost impossible to get, the largest you can get is 20gb so you better can buy a iHP-120 for an extra 20 or so. Technically it would e possible ofcourse. But shy spending so much money and then void your warrenty by opening the player?

I don't think that it does.
