Perhaps both foobar2000 and winamp whip the llama's ass? I mean, is 'whipping the llama's ass' something that has to be exclusive to one audio app wink.gif

Anyway, thank you for the new version Peter the replaygain speed improvement is great. Too bad I already scanned the bulk of my collection or I would have saved a load of folding time laugh.gif

i cant understand all this competition between winamp and fb2k (except of that the fb2k author is an ex-winamp-coder). Both players are completely different, and do have a different target-audience.

I'm a fb2k-user myself, and even giving notice to some bad design-decisions at nullsoft, there are cases, where i would suggest someone to use winamp instead of fb2k.

And there are cases, where i would propose none of these both players. For example, when lightweight is most important - for example if i'm sending someone an module or other audiofile which his player doesn't support, or for transporting such a player on a floppy-disk, i would instead propose xmplay, because its small, supports lots of filetypes and doesn't require installation. And then there are lots of other players, which fit other niches.

So, people may want to begin to stop their narrow-minded thinking and instead try to see things from the POV of other persons who have different needs than oneself.

The world isn't black/white.

is not competition, i used to use, after testing them all, zinf, sonique, freamp, winamp, etc, wa ... i also thought at first that skins where so cool ... and how nice and intuitive wa was ... then they starting adding useless things (like a browser!, video!, etc), and i started to look around ... luckily, i found fb2k, and even if at first i couldn't use it all the time, cause it was very unstable, as versions improved, and at about 0.5 i completely switched from wa ... and never lucked back ... today i was looking to a badly encoded (no tags) mp3 batch of files and i thought, ok, i would have to use that horrible tagger, and then i thought, why don't give fb2k masstagger a try? i did, and, o men, it is so great ... i immediately downloaded 0.7.2, and wow, it improves so much, with each version and with each plug-in ... just as i have friends that continue to use IE after i show them moz/fb, there are people that stick with wa ... it's ok with me, even if i don't understand it ... i never had problems moving between apps as better ones appeared, and an audio player is not exception ... but i never go harsh with people using something that i don't use ... options is always good for the consumer, so i hope wa5 would be great

Just out of curiosity, how do you provide support for a statement like that?
