I have a relatively old computer with 2 major Operatin System partitions, both Windows 200 Professional. On both OS's I have foobar2000 installed. I have used foobar on the first for a while and not had a problem, however, when I installed foobar on the second and tried to play an mp3, it gives me this error:
"ERROR (foo_output_std) : A device ID has been used that is out of range for your sytem."
I get this for every song file (mp3 or other) I try to listen to. I do not get this problem in the first OS.
I have tried all the conventional fixes, but I can't come up with anything. Maybe foobar has some sort of file ID that it attaches to files? I don't know what to do.
Any suggestions out there?

Device ID thing got me thinking . . . I checked in Device Manager and sure enough, my soundcard wasn't installed. Guess I overlooked that when I installed the OS. Oh well, thanks anyway.
