Full Version: Adding APE V2.0 Tags to my MP3s
Hydrogenaudio Forums > Lossy Audio Compression > MP3 > MP3 - General
Dead Goon
Okay, first off, I have searched the forums and for a moment I thought I had found the answer. I'm using Tag with the Tag frontend to add tags to all of my tagless MP3s. I have it set up to get everything from the file names and dir structure and it works brilliantly.

However, with foobar's masstagger it was very easy to add APE tages and IDv3 at the same time. I only stopped using it because there was no way I could have it guess the tag values for me using the dir structure as well as file names and I was having to rip audio with EAC putting every conceivable piece of info into the filename so foobar could guess all the values from that - result, extremely long filenames!

After my intitial search of the forums it has become clear I needed to use the --force ape2 command when using Tag but after adding this to my User defined tags: I keep getting an error message and nothing happens.

I'll post some screens of both the frontend and the arror message I get in hope that someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong. I've not tried the command line because I am terrible with DOS and can't for the life of me figure out how to navigate to my network drive where all my files are. Maybe someone can even tell me that foobar does guess values from dir names?

The --force ape2 needs to be in the "other options" box at the bottom. The "User defined tags" box is for adding any extra tags that aren't already supported by the frontend. smile.gif
