Are there any apps that are functionally similar to helium2 but also support APE tags and mpc files?

I'm curious because helium2 seems like the perfect tool for the job, but apparently it doesn't recognize APE tags.

The APE-tag standard in mpc is not decided yet.

Perhaps helium2 will support APE when it's finished.

You can use Tag.exe + frontend (Speek's page: http://home.wanadoo.nl/~w.speek/tag.htm )

Or use mpcenct, that can be used with EAC and CDex to add an Ape tag to MPC as soon as it finishes encoding. It's available at my page (Bottom of the message)

Roberto.

Obs: APE tag V1 is already part of the MPC SV7 standard.
APE tag V2 will be available in SV8.

Catalog program?

MPEG Audio Collection mayhaps?
http://www.jfaul.de/ (freeware)

Supports MPC (with Id3 but not APE)

Scans for *.mp?, *.wav, *.vqf, *.ogg, *.mac, *.ape files

Heartily recommended.
(I don't think any catalog program support APE tags in MPC yet)

I can encode/tag just fine (I use a modified version of the lameb script along with tag.exe to do both at once), but I don't have an app that can catalog/playlist etc. Helium2 seems like the best candidate, but it doesn't presently recognize the APE tags.
