I have one folder that I put all my mp3's in.

Using Foobar, I select "playlist", then "add directory".

Works great... until I download more mp3's into that folder.

Now I have to select clear, and "add directory" again to get a current list.

That's not to bad and I don't mind doing it.

But I do get tired of then having to select "playlist", "sort", "sort by display name" everytime I have to re add the directory.

If it could remember the way I had it sorted before I cleared the list that would be great.

Also, I'd like to be able to sort the playlist by the actual file name in alphabetical order.

My mp3 tags are so inconsistent that about half my list is listed as "unknown artist". Makes it hard to find what I want as it could be up above in the a-t section or in the "unknown artist" section which is a-z..

Thanks

If I understand you correctly, you could try:
Preferences->Core->Sort incoming files by: %_path%

Btw: You can also change your playlist formatting and make it display filename or something if some tags are missing.

I sorted it by %_path% and it just mixed the "unknown artist" ones all throughout. The list looks mixed up and random.

I'll have to use "sort by displayname" until I can actually sort the files by their actual filename and have the actual filename displayed.
