Does anyone know when the next version of LAME is expected to be released, or whether it will be worth waiting for? Will it have any new features or better compression ratio's?
I have a HD full of CD's ripped as .wavs, and I was wondering whether to convert them all now using 3.90.3 or to hold out until the next release.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Also, is vbr (old) still considered superior to the new method? Why?
