Hi there!

Well, I was not asked to do so, but that wont keep away from presenting you a little tool I created some time ago! biggrin.gif

I developed this tool for me only but thought that it could be usefull for anybody wo often works with pathnames and Files-targets.

As I once loaded an folder with about 300 mp3 files from personal records into my winamp playlist, I wanted to delete the shitty ones. For that reason I had to klick klick klick klick just to get into the folder. then I had to look for the file, I wanted to delete, which really cost me lots of time and nerves of course.

The Idea for this tool was born!
Wouldnt it be great to have a tool which just needs the path to a file to delete it?
sure ms-dos command "del" does ist, but it is not comfortable.
Winamp has the File Name in the File Info dialog, so I just had to copy the target to the file and come up with a tool that does the rest.

So I developed "File Deleter".
It comes with a button "Clipboard" so you dont have to Strg+V to paste the target. it does automaticaly.

I have a screenshot over here:

And the direct download link here! (right click - save target as)

If you have an idea for a future version, tell me smile.gif

btw: dont come up with "nobody needs this" or "This sucks ass".
I create programs for myself and not for people that like to start bitching but dont got nothing on their own. B)

please excuse my bad english.

Sounds like a useful program assuming your mp3s are scattered (and only organized within your playlist), AND you abhor the command line. Two features that would probably be much more useful is a) getting the bitrate information out and B) multiple file deletion.

I have written a programm code, that will read in the mp3 bitrate already.
but it only works vor cbr. Besides, file deleter is not designed for showing any techdata from a mp3.

as for multiple file deletion:
i had to come up with some more input boxes each for one target.
Other possibility might me to seperate the targets via ";" or something else.
but anyways its just 2clicks to delete a single file.
so from where i sit at: worthless wink.gif
but thx for the idea wink.gif

Not that I think it's worthless, it might actually come in handy in some cases. But when using Winamp, isn't it easier to just use the "Physically remove selected file(s)" option under the Rem button at the bottom of the playlist?

not thats something like a blamage.
Hell, I never saw this function. *lol like hell*
Heavy! biggrin.gif But the good about this is, I kept practicing C++ and the tool is usable für other purposes. not only winamp! *still cant really believe it* biggrin.gif
