I'm such a newbie I don't even know where this question belongs and might not even know how to ask it properly, but I'll give it a shot.

At present I've been using the EAC/Lame combination and have been tagging my files (I happen to like tags). While this has worked well, with the price of hard drives dropping and the fact I find it quite convenient to use full wave files, I want to rip my CD collection in full Wave format.

I started to do this and after a few CD's I imported the file into iTunes for my iPod. Well it took all of these files and erased all my subdirectories and dumped them into a new subdirectory called unknown artist. I never had this problem with my mp3's before as I had proper tags on them.

Which leads to my question. Is it possible to tag wave files? I get the impression the tags are in a file header that are in mp3 files but not necessarily in wave files.
What's a CUE sheet and can this somehow provide me the equivalent to a tag?

I'd like to have wave files on my computer, but I want the files well organized. Can anyone offer any insight?
