Nvidia released a new version of their unified drivers (now called forceware drivers). http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_udp_winxp_3.13

Audio Improvements:
- Realtek ALC655 codec support added
- Fix for BSOD on loading DLS files
- Reduced susceptibility to audio glitches under heavy system load; additional fixes for 6 channel GetPosition glitches
- ASIO support for recording at sample rates other than 48kHz; lower and more predictable latency
- Fixes for NOLF. The 3D minimum and maximum distance and the roll off factor were not being taken into account for air absorption. Also modified reverb gain so that the max distance was taken into account
- Fix for EAX reverbs; initialized EAX reverbs to off when querying for the EAX listener interface; updated EAX property handlers to ignore invalid parameters instead of range limiting -- this matches Creative EAX behavior

edit: even in this small passage I managed to smuggle in some typos... ;-)

It has already been posted here. I don't think this deserves to appear in the Validated News but as this is the second submission I'll let someone more experienced decide ...

ooops, sorry, didn't know it was already reported... I just did a quick search in recent valid news, cause I didn't thought it would be elsewhere...
as for the 'right' to be in the validated news section - well, there have been some dicusions here about the stability and soundquality of the n-force2 (soundstorm) boards, so I thought that some ppl might be interseted in the news (which are actually old then tongue.gif ).
and as it is directly related to audio quality, I thought the topic should belong to the news section, as there are also validated news about new progs. and sometimes new drivers... but of course it's up the mod-crew to descide that, no offence meant.

I've just searched a bit and found out that there are news about soundcard driver updates once in a while posted in the "Validated News" - and that there seem to be some people using N-force onboard sound, so I'll move the other News Submission (was the 1st one) to Validated News and this one to Audio Hardware forum.
