Hi. I know some of yous know in-ear headphones. The smallest size of rubber flex tips that came with my Shure E2c's just about rubbed my ears raw trying to get them to fit in. When I go walking with them they pop out a lot. Is this because they're too large?
The foam tips work well, but are there some tips that Shure doesn't manufacture that would fit smaller ears? Or is there a place to get the foam tips cheaper? I love the sound and the isolation but the rubber tips (which I tried because they can be cleaned over and over) just don't seem to be working out for me.
Tell me what I need to know.

Thanks.

I have some E2's as well and could not stand the rubber tips. The foam is much more comfortable. The designers at Shure were smoking crack when they set forth to do the rubber tips. I also have some Etymotic ER-4P's and their rubber flange tips are totally comfortable.

I have heard of other companies making custom earpieces for the E2's, but can't remeber who or where.

To each his or her own...... I prefer the rubber tips to the foam, by a wide margin I might add. I use the small and have had them in for up to 7 hours at a sitting (the joys of modern airplane travel) with comfort.

I will say that if thy pop out you may actually be using too SMALL a tip.

I'll also add that one of my tips came with a little "ridge" of excess rough rubber on it, presumably from the manufaturing process. 10 seconds with an emory board took it right off and made a world of difference.
