I had to reinstall Win98SE on top of itself..and now all the files in my music folder have their icons changed..They were icons with a lightning bolt.....now they white pieces of paper w/the Windows logo on them..How do I fix this?? The files play....but the cosmetics..how to fix???????

I know it's something simple..but I can't find where to change it.

My Documents>Tools>Folder Options>File Types>mp3 (or whatever type you use)

or...reinstall WinAmp and let it associate itself with the mp3's

Also, in Winamp Preferences, under General Preferences --> File Types, turn on Restore file associations at Winamp start-up. This is the location in Winamp 5, anyway. It may vary for different versions of Winamp, but the same option is available in all versions AFAIK.

With this option selected, all you have to do is start Winamp to make it automatically "grab" all it's file types again, after which the track icons should change back to the Winamp logo as well.

Edit: Oops...I was assuming you used Winamp, but you didn't say. If you're using another player, it should have a similar option, nonetheless.

Edit 2: Duh...you did say..."icon with a lightening bolt" = Winamp. My bad...

You could give AudioIcons a try as well.
