Anyway, I post and participate there purely for entertainment. As much pseudoscience and nonsense that gets propagated, I find some good stuff as well. In particular, anyone interested in getting into DIY audio hardware might find the forum there to be a good starting point. Building electronic stuff can be a blast, in my opinion -- haven't done it for years, but have been thinking about it...
The headphones forum is also nice for comparing different headphones and learning which sound best for specific purposes (or shall I say, groping in the dark for clues)... and of course the general silliness and light talk in the "member's lounge" and political talk in "take it outside."
I think it's a fun board, and usually to be taken with a grain of salt. I've been able to keep the latter in mind, and enjoy posting there a great deal. Since joining I've gotten two excellent pair of headphones (Sennheiser HD-580 and HD-600) and a decent amp to drive them with, and learned that the "V" curve EQ (boosted bass + treble and recessed midrange) is not high fidelity. Perhaps a few people have been educated (thanks to my gabbing) on the fact that soundcards can make an excellent source, and occasionally I'll drop a mild challenge to the whole silly cable thing.
