I'm currently using Alpha 15 with CDex. Where can I get the lame_enc.dll for Alpha 16?
Thanks.

As far as I know no one has compiled any alpha 16 yet, I am not even sure it has been finished. May I ask why you are using the alpha? It is only intended to be used for testing purposes.

There is no alpha 16 at this date.

I was under the impression there was an Alpha 16 out...
That article says Lame 4 alpha 6, not 3.94 alpha 16??? Again, why would you want to use an alpha?

Down in the comments to that article, someone mentions alpha 16. If it's available, why not use it?

Couldn't it be just a typo? One of the lame developers told you there's no alpha 16 atm

it's just a pre-test version ... it could have many bugs that could damage the quality of the encoded files ...

When you run an alpha version of Lame, the following text is displayed: "warning: alpha versions should be used for testing only"

You'll get less predictable results, and quite likely worse quality than with a stable version. You should really switch back to either 3.93.1 or 3.90.3. The latter one is the one recommended by this forum since it has been tested much more thoroughly. See this: http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index....t=ST&f=15&t=478
