I was just trying to come up with a good setting for my portable flash player. I was thinking ap -112, but then I thought if I am doing lowpass 15KHz, wouldn't a 32KHz sampling rate be adequate and have more bits for music?

Can I over-ride the preset for 112 with a lowpass 15.5 and 32KHz without mucking things up too much?

I think it would screw the pre-echo handling.

I think Lame is much more optimized for 44.1 kHz than for
32 kHz. Even very tonal signal without transients sounds at
112 kbps and 32 kHz worse than at 44.1 kHz.
