Full Version: evil mpc-plug bug

within 0.92g (i dunno about the latest versions) there is an evil bug within the tagging! when id3-tagging non-tagged files, the last 128 bytes of the file will be overwritten, which will lead to an "out of sync"-error or even a crash of the plugin. in this case the end of the file is destroyed - i killed about 2 dozen of my own files :/
will be fixed in the next versions...

sorry,
andree

Yes, I've been experiencing this for at least six months. biggrin.gif I can't believe it took someone aside from myself this long to notice!

Which version ID3 tags were you trying to plant?

I brought up soemthing similar (or maybe even the same) here. I guess there is way to write the tag so the "out of sync" error doesn't occur-Meista fixed it, but then disappeared (from me anyway). Now I use tag and the frontend, and it works fine. I use id3v1 tags still because my lcd plugin displays that info, and not ape info yet...
