Anyone know exactly what "improved Apple iTunes support" means?

Dunno. The only reason I deemed a release candidate worthy of a News Submission is because of the added support for tagging protected m4p files you can download from the iTunes music store, and only because "iTunes for PC" has garnered a lot of attention recently.

I don't have any m4a or m4p files lying around, so I can't "play with it" at the moment, and their website doesn't go into much detail beyond this headline. Also, their help files in the app are for v2.1.7.1, and are not updated for new features in the 3.0 release candidates yet.

Perhaps someone around here uses both Tag&Rename and iTunes, and can post more info?

I have around 120 itunes albums in aac and rc 5 (the previous release) was lockinig up on some of them. I sent T&R one of the offending files and they resolved the issue in rc 6. Great service and responsiveness BTW, easily worth the small fee IMHO.

Doesn't work on my Nero m4a files.

I love this proggie. Best money I've ever spent, aside from my mp3 player of course... and the 60gb hd i put inside it... okay, so it's the third best thing i've ever bought. =D

Actually I have to concur: their responsiveness is great, very helpful chap this Evgeny and some of the best bucks ever spent for me

Love T&R too (registered quite awhile ago) altho I wish they would add LPAC support for backward compatibility, more lossless formats as well.

Enough release candidates tho, where's the beef? Give us v3.0.

Doesn't seem to work on MP4 files. Probably isn't supposed to, but I was hoping.

Doesn't work on foobar2000 encoded m4a files either. It seems to suffer from the same BUG as iTunes. It recognizes the file but can read exsisting tag or track length nor can it write a new tag. I believe iTunes and T&R just plain don't support the VBR m4a standard even though nero and foorbar2000 do.

THAT would be nice! It was taking as long for me to tag as it did to encode!

Downloading now...

No APEv2 support yet, though. sad.gif (I'm not an APEv2 user myself, but I know other people want this feature in T&R.)

I mailed Evgeny about this one and 3.1 should support Flac & APE, so let's hope and pray smile.gif!
