I am just trying to find out if there is any way to get the media library in Windows Media Player to include ogg files?
I rather like using the media library in WMP, but I want to switch to ogg for all of my files.
Is there a plugin or any settings I can use?

As far as I have seen, there isn't a way. The OggDirectshow filter doesn't have support for it. I don't know why the developers who were working on the filter haven't completed it, as it's been quite a few years. I think someone should look around for the source and complete it themselves (ah, if only I had the windows coding skills).
Sorry man. I'd love to do exactly the same thing, but it just hasn't happened yet.

Not to reply to my own post, but I went looking around the net for details on this topic. Here's what I found:
http://www.xiph.org/archives/vorbis-dev/20...00310/0027.htmlIf you dig around on that messageboard, they have a Reg file that apparently fixes something in the OggDS filter v.0995. It has something to do with the MIME types. One thing though: it doesn't read the ID3-like data in the OGG files, but it will add them to the media library.
enjoy!
thanks! I forgot about this post. I have already switched to Winamp 5, but I'll check this out too. Thanks for the info.
I've used that reg file. It does open ogg with WPM (and works with CoreVorbis as well). But it will make WMP see ogg files as "Other Media" instead of Music like MP3 and WMA.
