There is a problem with a Soundblaster Live card on my computer.
Windows XP, latest drivers are installed.

It seems that the card is not detected, in Control Panel and Device Manager there is no audio device detected. Sound from most programs does not work yet it is possible to play music through foobar2000 if Kernel Streaming output is used.

Any information or solutions would be appreciated, thanks very much.

I was going through this recently with a SATA card that the OS would automatically detect the card and install it in the wrong configuration.

I would suggest that you un-install all SB programs installed including drivers - SB installs a lot of crap everywhere on your system. Next take the card out of your system. Then go into the control panel -> add/remove hardware -> uninstall devices -> important! make sure you click on 'Show Hidden Devices', sometimes cards show up in here and hense the reason that windows will automatically re-install the same drivers. If you seen any SB audio stuff then delete it.
reboot-> re-install the sound card->re-install the drivers
hope that works
