How does it crash? What do you do before it? It might be caused by my modifications.

It crashed with me as well. I just put the dll file in my Winamp plugin directory and anytime I go to play a MPC, Winamp crashes.

It plays now, but my playlist entries change from "Artist - Song" to "%1 - %2".

Read the updates You need to go to config and change %1 - %2 to %A - %T.

I see that shorten.exe is included. Does this mean we can use shorten as a source to encode directly to .mpc?

Short answer: yes

I uploaded updated version of Winamp MPC plugin, it should now handle UTF-8 encoding and decoding with APE 2.0 tags. Any feedback welcome.

What updates? Where? This is the one thing that irks me, folks. How hard is it to put together a little text file containing latest updates and what has changed for that particular revision and simply distribute it with the s/w? No too hard. If I hadn't been reading the board I would've never known about the change to the title format for the Winamp plugin. Otherwise, Frank, you got no other complaints from me, bud.

I uploaded again a new version of Winamp plugin. There was minor bug with tag type detection, sometimes APE tag was recognized as ID3 tag.
