I've almost completed a Linux version of WinVorbis which is working well with vorbiscomment & oggenc. Does anyone know if there are binary versions of vorbisgain & oggdec available for Linux?

You want to use ogg123 for decoding. Oggdec was made because ogg123 didn't work on windows. Ogg123 is the standard decoder that comes with the vorbis packages.

Vorbisgain wasn't included in rc3 yet. One way to get it is to download an updated vorbis-tools package from my site http://sjeng.org/ftp/vorbis/vorbis-tools-1...playgain.tar.gz

I have added a binary as well: http://sjeng.org/ftp/vorbis/vorbisgain_libc6_rc3

But that code is a little bit old. Good enough perhaps, but there are newer versions available (and source at Rare wares (http://www.inf.ufpr.br/~rja00/), IIRC, in the daily vorbis archive).

Same version as above, I believe (you did get the sources I sent, didn't you?). 0.20 is the latest version. smile.gif

Yes, but I have been too lazy/busy to update my stuff. Do you know if the tool is in official CVS already? If the new version is available somewhere, I'll point to there instead of the one on my site.

If not, I'll try to get it updated.

Thanks Garf for the vorbisgain binary & ogg123 info. Linux isn't my native OS at this stage. Maybe one day smile.gif

No, not in CVS yet, AFAIK (haven't seen any commits anyway), but I did re-send the sources to Stan recently (he had apparantly lost the files I sent earlier). Hopefully it isn't too far off now.

Also checked latest nightly CVS archive (April 25). Nothing there.

Okay, the Windows binaries on my webpage are updated, and I uploaded the 0.20 source with some fixes as well(*).

(*) getopt files included, a NEWS file and clarified the licensing
